Selamat Hari Raya Haji ...

HARI RAYA HAJI
Hari Raya Haji, or the "pilgrimage festival", marks the end of a Muslim's pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, it commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail in an act of obedience to God. In Singapore, Hari Raya Haji is a public holiday.

Background
Hari Raya Haji (Aidil Adha) falls on 10 Zulhijjah, the 10th day of the 12th month of the Muslim calendar. The Muslim calendar, with the months alternating between 29 and 30 days, is 11 days shorter than the 365-day Gregorian calendar.

On this day, which is also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, Muslims worldwide sacrifice sheep, cows or camels for the sake of religion and community. It is done in remembrance of the sacrifice undertaken by Prophet Ibrahim, who was ready to sacrifice his son Ismail, but a ram appeared in his place at the last moment.

Hari Raya Haji also marks the end of the pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca. Muslims gather in Mecca to perform the pilgrimage, which is the fifth pillar
of Islam.

Description
Male volunteers at mosques or Muslim institutions usually perform the sacrificial slaughtering after the Hari Raya Haji congregational prayers. This sacrificial slaughtering, also known as korban, is a voluntary act. Sheep, goats and cows are ritually slaughtered as sacrifice. The meat is then distributed to the community, neighbours and relatives, with special attention to the needy and poor, as a reminder to share one's wealth with others. Muslim Singaporeans are increasingly doing korban with Muslim associations and mosques, locally and abroad.

During the sacrifice, prayers are uttered and the sheep's throat is slit with razor-sharp knives. This act must be done with confidence and quickly, so as to minimise the animal's suffering. This is in accordance with Islamic law, where halal does not literally mean that the food contains neither pork nor lard, but it has to be prepared properly according to Islamic requirements.

The legend of Deepavali

The word "Diwali"is derived from the Sanskrit word "Deepavali", which is composed of two words - Deepa meaning Light and Avali meaning a Row. It means a row of lights and indeed illumination forms its main attraction. Diwali leads us into Truth and Light and is celebrated on Amavasya.

A colorful festival that is celebrated by all Hindus worldwide is Deepavali. This festival usually falls around late October and November. One important practice that the Hindus follow during the festival is to light oil lamps in their homes on Deepavali morning. By lighting the oil lamps, the Hindus are thanking the gods for the happiness, knowledge, peace and wealth that they have received. The Hindus consider Deepavali as one of the most important festivals to celebrate.

There is even an interesting legend behind this festival. The story goes that Narakasura, a demon, ruled the kingdom of Pradyoshapuram. Under his rule, the villagers suffered a lot of hardship as the demon tortured the people and kidnapped the women to be imprisoned in his palace. Seeing his wickedness, Lord Khrishna set out to destroy the demon and the day Narakasura died was celebrated as Deepavali, the triumph of good over evil!

Here, i wish a Happy Deepavali to all Hindus in every country in the world; wish you all a lot of peace, happiness, prosperity and good health.

Happy Deepavali!!!!!!!

MACCOM

Join us now....

The birth of MACCON

The formation of engineering community took place in the year of 2008, August. Malaysia CFD-Community, MACCON came from an inspiration of a vision to empower and gather engineering computing knowledge throughout the whole Malaysia.

The achievement of MACCON

In conjunction with the launch of MACCON, MACCON seminar, the 1st Malaysia CFD-Community Seminar has been organized from 19th to 21st of August 2008 in 3 different venues in peninsular Malaysia which were at uptown, midtown and downtown that hosted by 4 local Universities and they are UiTM-Penang, UNITEN, UiTM Shah Alam and UTM. The seminar was attended by more than 100 participants from North to South.

Dr Aji Purwanto, representative from NUMECA International, Brussels, Belgium was invited to be the guest speaker.

The committee of MACCON

Thanks to our local universities that had put a lot of effort in hosting the seminar and they are:-
Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Pulau Pinang
Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN)

About NUMIT Enterprise

about NUMIT....

NUMIT Enterprise or known as ‘Numerical Multi-physics Iteration’ Enterprise commenced operations in early February 2009 with an inspiration combining conceptual ideas that may lead towards the development of advance technologies. NUMIT Enterprise is an entirely a Malaysian-owned company addressing discreet robust designs by means of virtual proto-typing (Computer Aided Engineering) to intelligent shop floor monitoring systems (Manufacturing/Warehousing Execution System), high-end simulation techniques from solid to liquid and gas, support and training, low to high-end computer hardware supply, engineering consulting, and engineering project management.

We envision concepts and ideas that would lead to the development of technologies by fully mastering and utilizing both theory and philosophy. Our mission is to make use of our creativity and innovative talents by means of our knowledge and experience enabling the development of engineering solutions. We only believe in value-added engineering solutions lead entirely by a lean strategy. We always keep this in ourselves that ‘Continuous Improvement’ is the key to propel us forward. In line with our lean strategies, we will keep emphasizing on our lean thinking methods.

We have built a strong partnership with NUMECA International (http://www.numeca.be/), SAMTECH Group (http://www.samtech.be/), MIDASIT (http://www.midasit.com/) and Pac Technologies (http://pactechnologies.com.my/) to provide the best engineering support in term of solution, support, training, consulting, and for any related project management for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Computational Solid Mechanics (CSM) and Advanced Manufacturing and Warehousing System (AMS).
