MACCOM

Join us now....

The birth of MACCON

The formation of engineering community took place in the year of 2008, August. Malaysia CFD-Community, MACCON came from an inspiration of a vision to empower and gather engineering computing knowledge throughout the whole Malaysia.

The achievement of MACCON

In conjunction with the launch of MACCON, MACCON seminar, the 1st Malaysia CFD-Community Seminar has been organized from 19th to 21st of August 2008 in 3 different venues in peninsular Malaysia which were at uptown, midtown and downtown that hosted by 4 local Universities and they are UiTM-Penang, UNITEN, UiTM Shah Alam and UTM. The seminar was attended by more than 100 participants from North to South.

Dr Aji Purwanto, representative from NUMECA International, Brussels, Belgium was invited to be the guest speaker.

The committee of MACCON

Thanks to our local universities that had put a lot of effort in hosting the seminar and they are:-
Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Pulau Pinang
Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN)
Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Shah Alam
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)

The Evolution of MACCON to MACCOM

Due to the ‘incompletion’ of MACCON, that is only serving the community by means of CFD, it doesn’t represent the ‘real world’ as we expected. MACCON has considered the best way to gather the expertise not only in CFD, but also in CSM which makes CAE exist and Advance Manufacturing System.

In conjunction with the formation of MACCOM, the logo has been revised and updated as below:
Figure 1: MACCON’s logo before the update.
Figure 2: MACCOM’s logo after the update

MACCOM shall be the first biggest event ever in Malaysia for community services in eC-AMS field of application. MACCOM has been rapidly 'evolved' since the launched of MACCON.

Definition of eC-AMS

eC-AMS is pronounced as ‘E-CAMS’ which brings to a new formation of MACCOM. eC-AMS is known as ‘E’ngineering ‘C’omputing and ‘A’dvanced ‘M’anufacturing ‘S’ystem which covers the aspect of design and development stage to manufacturing system stage. CAE or computer aided design shall completely describe the first part of eC-AMS and MES/WES or known as manufacturing execution system and warehousing execution system shall explain the second part of eC-AMS.

eC-AMS has strong support not only by NUMIT itself, but also from expertise all over the world such as NUMECA International, SAMTECH Group, MIDASIT and PAC Technology.
